Rio Star and Juliette Collins are a bold new writing duo emerging from the Liverpool theatre scene. Their collaboration began at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, where Rio first conceived the idea for Tangfastic – the spark for a partnership powered by razor-sharp instincts and an almost telepathic sense of what makes something funny.
Bringing Juliette on board, the pair quickly found a shared voice. Their debut show, The Shoe Tree, premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024, marking them as ones to watch.
Now, they’re back with Tangfastic-bigger, sharper, and funnier-building on the original idea first dreamed up during their time at LIPA.
Producer: Grace Lister-Akerman
Grace Lister-Akerman is a Liverpool-based producer working across theatre, short film, and independent production.
She was Producer on the YEP Writers Showcase at the Everyman Theatre and on Picnic at Hanging Rock (2025) with Dizzyloveslizzy, supporting the delivery of ambitious, performance-led work.
Her screen work includes producing Time to Go with Old Swan Films, and she is currently developing a trilogy of short films with Dizzyloveslizzy. She also co-creates, writes, and stars in the mockumentary series The Nun Files, which has reached over one million viewers online.
